Meet Our Firm’s Legal Team

An encounter with the justice system, whether it is your first time or a subsequent interaction, can feel overwhelming. Your freedom, career, reputation and family relationships may all be at stake. At Spellman Law, P.C., we understand how important it is for you to receive the answers you need – quickly – to defend yourself in the courts.

Our founding attorney, Sean P. Spellman, began practicing law in 2003 after graduating from the Drake University Law School. He has concentrated almost entirely on criminal litigation, including OWI/DUI, drug crimes and federal level white collar criminal cases. He is a member of the Iowa Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Sean was joined in his practice in 2010 by his sister, Mary K. (Molly) Spellman. Molly also received her law degree from Drake University. She supplemented her formal legal education with internships with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission and the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Molly is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, the Polk County Bar Association, and the C. Edwin Moore Inn of Court.
