Our attorneys focus their practice on criminal defense, meaning they have hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of a broad spectrum of misdemeanor and felony charges. With more than 30 years of collective experience, our brother-and-sister team has handled both state and federal matters.
Our founding attorney, Sean P. Spellman, began practicing law in 2003 after graduating from the Drake University Law School. He has concentrated almost entirely on criminal litigation of all kinds. He is a member of the Iowa Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Sean was joined in his practice in 2010 by his sister, Mary K. (Molly) Spellman. Molly also received her law degree from Drake University. She supplemented her formal legal education with internships with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission and the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Molly is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, the Polk County Bar Association, and the C. Edwin Moore Inn of Court.
